BLOG BURST:
" We are a funny, strange, wondering, group groping around in a landscape of sand or countryside of packed in thistles thinking we’ve got it all defined. We sit in our comfortable places from tents and huts to mansions and houses spouting off definitions that someone with limited knowledge and truly no understanding has laid down as absolute fact. What’s worse is we swallow it hook line and sinker.
So often we take a position that life really cares about us and that we mean something to someone who really doesn’t care for us at all. Or we’ve been influenced to the point we decide to wear what seems to be opaque glasses with tiny pin holes allowing us only to see in a very limited way. It’s all our way.
For a brief moment take some time and look at some paintings. Look at some pictures. Look at the world around you. Look at the clouds passing over your head. Feel the rain drops on your face. Try to figure out how your hand works, your legs move and your eyes blink.
Why is it that we conjure up some idea that perfect axioms, saying things over and over, dancing a certain way, putting our hands up and waving, doing strange things to our bodies and all kinds of other things will give us the answers we’re looking for.
When you’ve built your own answers and dug your heels in because you just had to do it. Or, you talk out of both sides of your mouth doing one thing and disapproving of someone else doing similar things. Don’t expect approval. Don’t expect the road you travel, or the finish line to be what you conjured up. The jury is still out! In fact the true Judge is waiting.
It’s not about you and it’s not about “feeling good”. When you are outside the box sometimes the water gets deep.
Take some time, look at beautiful, meaningful paintings and ponder where you are; where you’re going; and “who” is really in control. It’s not too late!

Politicians spend millions of dollars to get a position in government with a title and lifelong pension. People take ideas and turn them into items that revolutionize the way we live and get millions of dollars. People write down or scratch off numbers and win millions of dollars. People bet millions of dollars just throwing it away. People pay other people millions of dollars to keep their mouths shut. People walk out in their backyards and see this black goop bubbling up from the ground and suddenly they’re worth millions of dollars. People take shortcuts and don’t do the right things and millions of gallons of oil spill deep within the finest fishing areas of the country. Millions of people gather to watch an event paying millions of dollars. Millions of people journey millions of miles to be home for the Holidays. The government spends millions of dollars to send off millions of its sons and daughters to fight somewhere with millions of others they don’t even know.
What life worth? What’s a lifetime worth? What’s a relationship worth? What’s a special day worth? What’s a special moment worth? What’s a memory worth? What’s a painting that capture’s your heart’s emotion worth?

" Each day most of us wake up and try to get adjusted to what sleep and unawareness has done. Our minds start to focus on the laundry list of things undone and the tasks that this particular day needs to have completed. Stupefied we move from literally getting out of bed to the beckoning of the bathroom. Once that ordeal is over a series of choices lay themselves out before us.
The routines and the daily grinds are always in conflict with what we personally feel is a priority. Those always seem to be at the battlefront. Then there are the wants and desires which weave themselves in and out of our daily endeavors, always playing havoc with our minds and our thinking.
Once in a great while there is a still, small, cool breeze whispering in our subconscious ear that we need some alone time, some place of peaceful respite. And most of the time we answer with that dreadful loud inner voice with “No, not now, I just don’t have the time.”
Unfortunately too many of us continue this answer which eventually breaks down our endeavor, our relationships, our self consciousness, our control and we didn’t even see it coming. Here’s where a beautiful, meaningful message giving painting can remind us and even take us away for a small breath we so long for. It doesn’t always resolve the conflict going on around and through us but it so reminds us that action is warranted and necessary. One warning though is that if we never pay any attention to it, it will wither and die, not on the vine but on the very walls before us.

"Hot days, warm nights, and movies of the future where the world has dramatically changed and everyone left alive is scraping for the necessities. They’re killing each other, eating each other, and being as evil as that old serpent himself.
Aren’t we fortunate to live in a country that even though it has hundreds of shortfalls it is still one of the most amazing and wonderful countries in the world. And yet, here we are without time or thought to some of the choices that lay before us or that we have already made. We don’t have time for this and we don’t have time for that. We want it the way we want it or you out! There is no more God, no more oaths, no more church, family or country. We just don’t have the time! Or, we don’t make it. If it doesn’t fit in our plans, you’re out. Were pressed on every side to meet the daily schedule before us and live up to others’ expectations. When we don’t, time to move out and move on. You know, get on with your life.
I’m not talking about anything you don’t know. What I’m trying to make you focus on is those precious little things that make a difference. Time is one of the most precious! It’s time to stop, time to look, time to listen, time to reflect, time to ponder, time to visit, time to talk, time to understand, time to be with, time to do what’s right, and time to make the right choices or make the choice right.
If you took a brief few precious moments and looked deeply into a painting that truly has captured your heart’s emotions, it could just lead you down that reflective, pondering, seeing road to help you make decisions in the future; as well as take steps to heal your past.

"There has been a lot of “Hot Air” around from South to North and from East to West. There has even been a heavy concentration of it in the DC area. But, then again there always seems to be a heavy concentration of hot air and stuff there.
So what is it about the word “hot”? Wait; hot food! She looks hot. There’s a hot guy. You are playing so well you are hot. How hot is that? That’s a hot product. I don’t care how hot it is we are still going. Boy, are they hot. Girl you are hot. That person is full of hot air. That’s icy hot.
Funny how we adopt words and change their meanings to match what someone put together for some reason and it catches on. Next thing you know it’s the word of a particular time or a word of a whole generation.
That painting is hot. Those stolen paintings are hot. That was a hot painting in its time. I wouldn’t touch that it’s hot and the alarm will sound.
When I stood before that painting it just brought tears to my eyes. Isn’t that cool?" POETIC PONTIFICATION:
