September 2nd “Times & Seasons”
“Times And Seasons”
BLOG BURST
“Well, just in case you didn’t realize it September is upon us. This weekend brings Monday’s “Labor Day”, a time of reflection and paying tribute to the American worker for their achievements and contributions. Wow, take that in light of the mess we are in. Blame this and that, he or she or even them and the truth, the real truth is there. Nobody really wants to watch PBS’s account to really understand who was in charge, who made the decision and just maybe who got paid off. But, please pass the blame. The workers that we honor, we allow to bear the brunt of borrowing, giving the money away to cronyism and solutions that didn’t have a possibility of succeeding and then finally making the workers of America pay it back. Like I said what a mess!
It’s all times and seasons, as we move forward to what is coming, and people don’t want to hear that either. In our “feel good” society the choice is always about “me”!
What’s up with your Labor Day, getting together with family, friends, old customs or new traditions? Please, you may want to reflect on those who lost everything after the most recent storm or just weeks ago the most recent fire, or the most recent shooting, or the most recent tragedy, or even what you may not see coming.
Times and seasons still demand we spend time with Him, pouring ourselves out about all that concerns us. It does require the right relationship and the right standing.
Spend some time, get right and ask, seek and knock!”
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“Seasons come and seasons go; time moves more than day to day
What are you longing for, what care burdens you, what will you say
We never know the day or the hour or the true cause of events
But we sure don’t think a lot when we go off and when we truly vent
Where’s your joy where’s your peace have you just settled in
Are you at all concerned about how you are to live for Him?”
“True artist painters are a rare breed, living out a journey. They are often totally maligned and misunderstood. Sometimes it takes a lot of work and time to create something worth showing to others. Have a great week!”

POETIC PONTIFFICATION
“We spend years listening to those who have no clue
They have all kinds of things for us to say and do
And yet they’ve followed the world moving to the end
All they know is diamonds are a girl’s best friend
Yet they forget His wonderful mercy and awesome grace
There is just no experience like truly seeking His face!"
"Paintings can move you, capture you, and take you beyond your expectations, but they lose value to viewers who never truly see them for what they are. Have a great week and stay positive!"

August 19th “Open My Eyes Lord!”
“Open My Eyes” (public domain image)
BLOG BURST
"The eyes are amazing creations of Almighty God.
Nothing comes close or will ever come close to God’s creations. Not even Leonardo could make a real Lion; only one that walked and was built of wood. Think about it, that was back in the 1500’s. Soon the new iPhone will be out with a very special camera and great new features. Today was the launch of a unique video player. This afternoon millions upon millions will watch videos. Hundreds of millions will be fixed to the HD Television and billions will be on smart phones. On and on it goes as man continues to invent and refine the way we see and what we see.
God has His time table and the entire planet and all things that are on it are in motion to that end. The biggest problem right now is not the technology but it’s man’s vision and man’s heart. He neither sees what is going on around him, nor looks for the miracles God performs on a daily basis. He has no relationship to God, he’s chosen his own way. An artist painter must become an observer, a researcher and an experimenter to create a painting of any worth. Yet, 99.9 percent of every human being doesn’t see God at work. In fact they don’t even acknowledge Him and the works He has already done in which man takes pleasure.
How about you? Do you know Him and have a relationship with Him? Are you going through some things that seem to have no answers? Have you chosen your own way instead of what He had for you?
He’s waiting; He’s willing; and He’s available! Just ask Him!"
PONTIFICATION
"Each day we get up work and struggle along our way
Never fully seeing or asking what should we do today
Where would You have us and what should we do
Never coming to Him clean asking Him to show anew
He’s always there, He’ll never, never turn you away
Time is moving fast don’t put off what you should do!"
"The painting will never get done if the artist just goes on with life and all its interruptions. Time to get in the real game, don’t wait! Have a great week!"

August 12th “Vision”
“His Word Is Truth” (public domain image)
BLOG BURST
“Vision is all the rage right now, in fact did you know we are actually in “The Visual Revolution”? Mobile devices seem to be changing every aspect of life. The old ways of doing business aren’t acceptable any more, in fact hundreds of thousands even millions of business have recently suffered tremendous setbacks due to Google and Facebook.
Pinterest is knocking it out of the box with its wish list and share shopping visual network. Calls on webcams and Skype are moving beyond imagination. Sharing everything with everybody is a norm and no one’s really looking at who is looking at them. Big Brothers now has plenty of Big Sisters and she’s taking over.
Why is this all happening? The book of Daniel describes some unbelievable things. A lot have come true and more are coming true each and every day. People once thought that TV was the thing that would usher in The Lord of Host, but will everyone see the two witnesses in Jerusalem on their “Mobile Devices”?
Well, we know it’s coming and we need to “share” but real time and with real effort because it’s “appointed for man once to die and then Judgment”.
Inventory time and lots to think about and be thankful for!"
POETIC PONTIFICATION
"Great God you are far beyond our mortal thoughts
Most of the time we’re all tied in our own knots
Help us to speak a word and tell another about new life
Help us make peace and live effectively for Christ
Keep us close as we don’t see all that is around
Let us live in joy and thankfulness, let love abound!"
"Spend some time looking at real art and real painting not just something that matches a pillow and you might just find a ”visual concert” for your heart. Have a good week!"

August 5th “Let The Real Opening Ceremony Come!”
“Opening Ceremonies The Olympics 2012”
BLOG BURST
“Did you see the opening ceremonies? Wasn’t that something? Think about the world and what a production that was. So many people ,so many parts, so many prompts, so many special affects, so many rehearsals, so much exactness, and so many so many’s. The administration of that was just unbelievable.
And then, the parade, it was almost from every tribe and nation. Let the games begin and so they have. Some people are flat out fixed to the TV and iPhones watching ever second and the other extreme doesn’t have a minute or a care about them. Then there are those on both sides of the middle and plenty in the middle. Lest we forget, there are still areas of the world wouldn’t have a clue what I am talking about let alone a TV or smart phone.
All of this to say what a glorious wonderful day when life changes completely and, as 1 Corinthians 2:9 says: “However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him".
Ready? Or are you living contrary to Scripture or don’t even know who He truly is? I pray God will reveal Himself to you.”
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“Go with each day You reveal your wonder awesomeness
We so don’t focus on what You are doing in our weakness
We don’t give You credit or walk according to Your will
We shamefully think its life alone that offers every thrill
But You are kind, merciful, and loving beyond our view
Come now Lord Jesus hold us and guide us in what we do!”
“Artist painters can never capture the true awesomeness of God’s creation. They can however, remind us of His truth. Have a great week!”

July 29th “Enjoying Every Day”
“Where Are You”
BLOG BURST
"Every athlete, every soldier, and a lot of people realize consistency and repetitions are necessary to performance and daily living to its fullest. Many don’t have that insight or enjoyment. Many are suffering in so many ways. Many have been burned, maligned, and mistreated to the point that hope is nothing but a distant flicker. This affects Christian and non Christian alike in the world in which we live.
Many Christians don’t know what it is to rest in the hands of God. Many don’t actively look for what He is doing in their lives. Many have walked away, taken another path, another direction, and aren’t even remotely in communication with Him. But, for those individuals who are, and for you I hope, they see His awesome movement and orchestration of events and circumstances for His purposes happening right before their very eyes. As they see these things and bear witness to the facts that are unfolding, those same eyes are filled with tears of praise and joy!
What an experience, what a joy, what a spring board from the pulling of the world there is when you not only know Him, but see how much He cares for you and your life through His direct actions. I pray you are seeing it and truly know what I am talking about.
It’s even better than when a painting brings you to tears!"
POETIC PONTIFICATION
"Jesus when You come so close I cannot breathe
All You have and are doing how can I perceive
Every day events and circumstances that come to be
Life has no meaning without You allowing me to see
Stay close, let me remember when ever the world is near
Help me to guard my heart until you make it disappear!"
"Painters sometimes get blinded by the light that really isn’t there, until they work through it and see the real gold that does appear. Have a great week!!"

July 22nd “First And Second Steps”
"The Comparison"
BLOG BURST
"“Ala Prima” is an Italian painting term which means paint in one session. While I’ve done a considerable amount of that, it seems to me when you love depth it really doesn’t happen the way you want. You also see a lot of “Plein Air” painters who love the process of one day, quick work, catch what you can, catch or it’s gone. It’s demanding and uncompromising in requiring your attention, everything’s in a state of motion. I like depth and reflective light and glazing and making one step work over another. I usually have at least six paintings going at one time. I just recently visited with someone who had converted many years ago to acrylics because of the drying speed. Even though he worked over and over on a surface, he stayed within his subject study before moving on to the next. Each of us takes a different journey. The Bible says, “man has his plans, but God determines his steps” Proverbs 16:9. Too often we get in our own way.
I thought I’d show you some progress on the “Underpainting” on the blog I shared with you over a month ago. While it has a really long way to go you can see the steps I’ve taken.
I hope you get there and its where God wants you to be, because that where you’ll be most happy."
POETIC PONTIFICATION
"The great God of heaven and earth gives each person a personal gift
It’s up to us to find it, exploit it in the right way and make sure we don’t drift
He will bless it and make sure you understand what and where you are to go
You need to understand forces will be against you trying stop the proper flow
Take heart and follow Him who sees and knows all each and every day
Follow His will and make sure you walk in His steps all along the way!"
"The journey has a lot and brings a lot. You make choices along the way some that you suffer for and some that bear fruit, but hopefully you build on what you’ve learned and your relationship is closer. Have a good week!"

July 15th “Times Changing and Anniversary”
“Your Judgment”
BLOG BURST
“Well this has been a big week for some and will be a big week for others. Like the week being one to one very close to me of ”Anniversary Remembrances” of years of being together in a marvelous life that gave much glory and obedience to the Almighty. Even though one, of the couple who were one together, has past and gone to be with the Lord, the other continues on the quest God laid out a long time ago. There’s no one like this person!! Like the week being one in which opportunities knocked as well as opportunities that faded, knowing that He controls all things. Like working and growing in the talent given by God as a gift and the overwhelming realization of its reality. Like a famous artist whom I had the privilege to interview and spend more than four straight hours with, who evaluated my own works and journey. Only then, I learned he passed away four days later when he collapsed and had a heart attack. Like a personal close friend, He faces surgery for cancer this week. On and on it goes as life changes.
Then of course there are those who have chosen their own will and their own way and face life anew. Having chosen this course and the way of the world, after warning upon warning while still driven to think it’s all fine, and God will change his persona and overlook everything even though His Word is exceedingly clear on all these matters. The course of feel good actions lay not in the hands of humans but life in all ways is clearly in the hands and grasp of almighty God.
This will be the end of wasting over 37 years of life.
There is an expression that says, “They meant it for bad, but God meant it for good”. Look at Job’s wife, Lot’s wife, even Abraham’s wife. Those who remained faithful survived. Personally, I can testify that these last few years have been the very best since before the vows and covenants. After this week praise God the wasted years and those who made it so will be gone!”
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“Thank you God for all you’ve done, Your heart doesn’t change
You don’t throw us away or abandon us in the toil and pain
If we obey and learn and seek after You, you will bring us through
Who can fully realize how Awesome You are and All for us You do
Thank You for keeping me while in the negative storm of 37 years
You have given so much, more than money, security or any peers
Have Your will and Your way on earth as You do in Heaven each day
Show us where to go and what to do, Lord have your way!!”
“The artist is nothing without the gift; but the gift is nothing without the work; ( Emile Zola); and the work is nothing without the knowledge and creativity!” (Douglas Auld) Be careful how you tread this week especially if you are not in His will, and be aware that the times are changing. I hope you recognize where they come from and why. A whole new direction next week, I look forward to it!”

July 8th “Adultery, Re-Marriage, Choices”
“Broken, Separated, Divorced”
BLOG BURST
"The world is the world and each individual belongs to God Almighty. Those”in and of” the world make a “choice” to serve their master “the deceiver”. Those who understand who God is; how He has made reconciliation for a broken relationship which cursed all men to death possible; and how faith and belief in His Son Jesus Christ gives individuals adoption into his family are not of this world. As His children, they are to follow Him and His Word and be obedient to His instruction. They still have free will and the ability to make choices. Some of those choices will bring them closer to God and some will strain the relationship. When we listen and follow what the world says, even from those who are our non Christian brothers and sisters who are not true believers, it is unacceptable! Marriage was given to all men, not just Christians.
Here’s what we know. This is not my words but His. Malachi 2:16: "I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith. Ezekiel 16:59: “This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant”. Matthew 19:9: “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery” Proverbs 6:27-29: “Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.” Proverbs 14:1: “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.” Romans 7:3: “So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.” Ezekiel 16:38: “I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.” Ezekiel 23:45: “But righteous judges will sentence them to the punishment of women who commit adultery and shed blood, because they are adulterous and blood is on their hands”.
Do these sound familiar? You never got over your pride or left the family you were born into and put your husband or wife first. You never really understood or tried to know them the way you should. Your pride and “self” didn’t allow you to seek God first. Your worry about what others may say instead of what God would say rules your life. You think that your “feel good” choices, your vote by the family you never left provided the right to make your choices. You put aside God’s Word and justified yourself by saying it was guilt trip. Money, pride, glitter and gold has separated you from God to whom you belong and are accountable to. You have torn down the house that was built, and opportunity to show your children what God’s Word means and how through all circumstances we are to follow, be obedient to and glorify Him. “Welcome to your new upcoming life.”
God is the God of forgiveness, the God who loves His own just because they are His. He wants you to stop, repent, rethink and turn around before it’s too late. If it is too late Ezekiel 23:49 says, “You will suffer the penalty for your lewdness and bear the consequences of your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.” God is not mocked and He alone judges.
There is faith. There is hope. There is love. The greatest of these is LOVE!"
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“Soon you will stand once again with another face to face
Giving your word and promises, vows to be solidly in place
You’ve done that before, wasting the lives of others so much
Your spouse, your children as well as those you have touched
To know that your love was only in your “feelings” you had
No real life of meaning, purpose, or obedience, it’s so sad
But have a nice life on the new choices you have made
Watch carefully each day as the collector comes to be paid!”
“The life with Christ is a life of faith, hope and love. It’s faith in who Christ is and what He has done. It is knowing that He is in control of all things and the hope that brings. It is understanding that His use of you may mean uncomfortable circumstances and situations. It is believing that He will bring glory to Himself and you consider it a privilege that He is using you. It is being obedient in the face of all things. It is knowing in your very heart of hearts that His love provides life, both here and for eternity.”

July 1st “Happy Birthday America”
“Happy 200th Birthday To The Constitution”
Painting by Michel Felice Corne*
BLOG BURST
“As we celebrate the 4th of July maybe we could take just a moment from parades, concerts, barbeque, interaction with friends and family, and ponder where we are and where we’ve come from. From the birthing of the greatest nation in history to the pathway of demise similar to the Roman Empire, we’re on the track of disaster that’s happened to so many others. This year the candidates will raise millions and millions of dollars, spend some of it on buying your vote and have it do absolutely nothing for anyone except for themselves and their “Google Circles”. Poverty’s up, homelessness, hunger, disease, cancer, foreclosures, unemployment, adultery, divorce, living together, and on and on and on, all at unparalleled levels. The moral decay and problems at the nation’s doorsteps with candidates and politicians that are married and have children, have children with others outside of marriage, and are having affairs with still others. This is all going on at the same time. The picture of those in political power, our lawmakers, elected officials, and those whose party loyalty is dominant beyond citizenship is just one of what we have become in the age of distraction and tolerance.
In the book of Ezekiel, God sends his prophet to tell the nation over and over and over again that their disobedience and unfaithfulness will result in actions beyond words. Do you think they listened? Today we can call out to those we love and those we care about and those to whom we are joined through citizenship and warn them. We can make them aware and ask them to turn from their wicked conduct, from their breaking of vows and covenants, and from their disobedience to God and His Sovereign Word. Do you think they will listen? No; pride, what others may think, choices of following the world, choices of listening to the lost rather than the Word of God will result in them only digging their wrongful determination in deeper. Rather than stop and think and know in their hearts that they are on the wrong path, that they have shown others the wrong answers, and that they have demonstrated that all God has taught them is wrong, they would rather “feel good” and believe that they are safe in their choices. They would rather demonstrate that they are secure in the false beliefs that their minds have created and agree to. What was it that Satan said, “You will not surely die.”!Have your ungodly sisters and brothers told you that?
Wake up!! Wake up America it’s not too late. We have a great Forgiving, Awesome God who’s willing to forgive us and bless us and secure us. If we would but humble ourselves, ask God for forgiveness and seek His face, putting our own selfish pride, our worldly answers and our feel good philosophy away, far away as well as other idols of our heart. He would restore our land, our families and our hope. You cannot throw God away and expect that He will be mocked, disobeyed and forget about you letting you alone in what you think will be. Ezekiel 18:4 says, “For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son – both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.”
As the Constitution, the United States’ first great Naval war ship, sails out of Boston Harbor on this its 200th anniversary year and makes its historical turn, think about repentance. We have to acknowledge our sin, make a stand and turn away from it and we will be forgiven.
There is faith, there is hope, and there is love. The greatest of these is LOVE!"
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“How long will you make me cry out
How long will you believe and not doubt
How long will it take for you to understand
Will it be too late before the woe is at hand
Will you be able to stand the demand to be paid
Where will you go then in the choices you made?”
"The painting by Corne depicts battle between the USS Constitution and the HMS Guerrier, a painting done after the epic victory. Too often we voyage out on our own with a plan and choices we have made only to find what we didn’t expect. “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverb 19:21 Have a wonderful Fourth of July Week!"

June 24nd “The Plans of Mice And Men”
“Broken Dreams Broken Vows”
BLOG BURST
“Life’s curse of toils and struggles are seen in every human being. People are always looking for the easier way, or the ways they think are right. People say one thing and do another. People look at other people think in their hearts and often say unacceptable things. In Ezekiel 14:2 God says. “These men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces.” Truth is God knows our hearts, our thoughts, and our actions. Nothing is hidden from Him.
So often we don’t do the right thing or make the right choices. We operate on our feelings or our own self importance, what’s in it for me. Our pride gets in the way of seeing things clearly and we can’t or won’t ask God what we should do or what choices we should make. Knowing that we might have to suffer or others may see us in an unfavorable light often drives us to the wrong path. This then complicates things and compromises our position with God as we become disobedient to His will and His authority. We sin and break our relationship with Him!
Our human relationships struggle because of this, as well as not fully understanding Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
We find ourselves on the doorsteps of new opportunities and new ventures which promise us new life, new security, happier times without any thought of how or why we are there. Soon, and very soon, after walking through the door we find that what we really have is more than we ever dreamed or expected in the way we had envisioned it. Welcome to your new life.
There is faith. There is hope. There is love. The greatest of these is LOVE!”
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“No guilt, no manipulation or complication you may think you know
No clear understanding of His will and the testimony that was to show
No thoughts of His glory or the promises you broke along the way
Living in the moment, driven by feelings, money the answer for each day
But, keep clear contemplation let it permeate your very mind and heart
John 15:6 will come with truth and play out its woe some part!”

John 15:6 “If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”
Ezekiel 16:8 “I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the
Sovereign LORD, and you became mine.”
Isaiah 43:1 “But now, this is what the LORD says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed
you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are
mine.”
1 Corinthians 8:6 “..yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came
and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came
and through whom we live.”

but rather for the will of God.”

June 17th “Father’s Day… For one and for all fathers have a great day!”
“God Reaches Out To All Fathers, To All Men”
BLOG BURST
“This past week I listened to a message form Robert Morris of the Blessed Life and Gateway Church. He mentioned that after Adam had sinned and was confronted by God ( Genesis ) Adam said he was afraid. This obviously broke God’s heart as He had done absolutely nothing to cause this reaction. It was only Adam’s sin. As he continued in his sermon what caught my attention was his comments from Scripture where he referenced that there are only two fathers…your Father God or your father Satan. God is the Father of all truth and Satan is the Father of lies. He asked whom you serve. He also talked about being loved and why God should love him. In his mind God had no reason, no reason at all, and yet when God spoke to him personally, He said, “Because you are mine!”
Today where divorce in the “Christian” community runs over 50 percent there are many who have divorced themselves from God’s teaching, His will, and their obedience to His Word. Many have thrown away those that are and were belonging to them. Never a thought, never an issue of how or what their spouse was entitled to or why they loved them. If God is and He is the God of miracles why not allow Him to reconcile the love that brought both parties together, rather than break the covenant and the family that God so desires apart?
We heard the anger loud and clear and the pride that overwhelms, but where is the humility and forgiveness that each Christian knows and understands if they have truly in fact given themselves over to the Lord of Lord, the King of Kings, and their heavenly Father, the Father of truth?
There is faith. There is hope. There is love. The greatest of these is LOVE. Happy Father’s Day”

June 10th “Deciding To Follow Or Not”
“Creation of Man by Michelangelo”
BLOG BURST
“Michelangelo was convinced and convicted that his work on the Sistine Chapel and Pope Julius II’s tomb were affected by his belief and his choices which went against the will of the Catholic Church and the family of the Pope.
Matthew 6:24
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon"
“If a Christian isn’t willing to give up everything to follow Jesus, you may as well say that person isn’t following Jesus. That is serving the other master, and as Jesus says, you can’t serve both.”
K.W. Lesile’s translation and commentary
We sing I have decided to follow Jesus. Have you? What have you done with your decision? What is the outcome of the choices you have made? Is the outcome a direct result of a life of surrender to the choices Jesus has put before you and you have surrendered to them? Or, is the outcome a product of the influences on your own Christianity? Faced with the challenge of asking and seeing what your choices should be during trial and testing, have you chosen to forsake what you know is true for a choice of what you think will be true?
What has your contribution been to your husband or your wife (because they are first after Jesus), your children, your parents, and your siblings as well as the others God has brought to you? Where and what will be the outcome? The results of choices you have made may take years to bear themselves out as wrong choices. Will the Judge who sees your heart, hear your cry and answer? Will you be willing to forsake all that you think you have built, when deep within the questions you ask in your own heart, you know it’s not the truth? If it is not right before Him will you ask forgiveness and give up everything to follow Jesus?
There is faith. There is hope. There is love. The greatest of these is LOVE!”
POETIC PONTIFICAION
"What about you will you pass on what you know is right
Will you accept some worldly paper that allowed you flight
Will you pass off the commands and instructions He has given to you
Are you going about life believing your new dreams will come true
Oh, Christian get on your knees, heed Scripture and pray today
Ask Him to forgive, listen quietly and closely to what He has to say!"
"Michelangelo’s work is truly remarkable but what he said through it will stand the test of time. What will your works and deeds say about your choices? Have a great week!"

June 3rd “Really, Not Really”
“One Nation Under God – Douglas Auld”
BLOG BURST
“I painted this painting at the same time I painted the painting I used for Memorial Day tribute. The title today is truly misleading. Our nation for the most part has forgotten how and what God has given us. We are a nation of tolerance and no one questions what that is really doing to the fiber and foundation of our great land. Once, children were disciplined, today we have states taking away the rights of parents to discipline their own children. Once, we would question divorce, now it’s a matter of how fast can one get out of vows and sacred assurances and promises for re-marriage. Once, we wouldn’t “tolerate’ our children living with someone, now after saying we’re upset, we go do it ourselves. Once, it was horrible to commit adultery, now we do what we want when we want, have no conscious, and justify it anyway we like. On and on it goes throwing God and His Word out the window and further worshiping the “god of self”. And this, this is from His people; forget those who are of the world.
The Bible says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. II Chronicles 7:14 His people are not of this Kingdom and they are to live in the world, but not be of the world. Most Christian’s don’t even realize they were called, wouldn’t humble themselves and aren’t sure why or even to whom they pray. What’s wrong with that picture?
Please wake up to the truth, God has chosen you to follow His instructions, His direction, have His security and to live and bring glory to Him. It’s not too late to repent and turn away, turn back, reconcile yourself and live for Him. Humble yourself, see Him as He truly is, and seek Him with all your heart; then pray for our nation becoming once again, “One Nation Under God”!”
POETIC PONTIFICATION
“Oh, child of the King where do you stand today
Have you thrown what you know as truth away
Did you choose the world over what is truly right
Have you chosen to live only using your own sight
What happens to the faith and promises you made
Has your stand and light you’ve shown started to fade
Are you dismissing what He wants for your selfish pride
Do you think He doesn’t see and you can actually hide
Seek first His face and pour yourself out to Him this day
Humble yourself before Him, be intimate and really pray
It’s not too late to do and be in the center of His will
Get before Almighty God, Sovereign Ruler and be still!”
“Painters wrestle with what they see, how they translate it and what the final execution is. For God’s people His Word is true and His ways are blameless. Seek Him, first!”

May 20th “ Underpainting”
“Underpainting”
“Underpainting is a term used when the first stages of a painting is done in a monochromatic way. In other words, it can look like a black and white photo. In actual painting the subject matter of the whole canvas is done most commonly in a combination of whites, and greens and burnt umber mixed together or used individually or separately with white. Mixing these together in differing amounts and painting them in a manner where the actual color combination used is the values of the painting. Set up in a scale they can range generally from five basic value colors to seven usually from lightest to darkest values. This method of painting creates totally unique results and sets up the painting for an application method called glazing. A series of glazes or thin transparent layers of paint are then applied to bring out the color of the painting. While the methodology takes skill and patience many traps from not dry layers completely, to muddy overlays, to rubbing out a previous layer if one is trying to correct a misapplication may cause significant frustration as well as failure.
Life is full of underpainting. What did you strive for when growing up? How were you influenced? What school or career did you really prepare for or did you even prepare for it at all? How were you influenced by those around you during your formative years? Why did you marry the person you married or why did you choose not to be married? How were you training to be married? What ethic background did you come from that influenced your understanding? Whose advice did you follow and why? What circumstance changed you? What choices did you make? How did you influence or how are you influencing your children? How do you influence others? What are you striving for? What security do you believe in? What have you forsaken to get where you are? What does it matter? What is your life worth? What beliefs have you forsaken? Do you believe in an afterlife?
Underpaintings in one’s life and the choices one makes can mean everything as The Bible says, “it is appointed once for man to die and then judgment”!
POETIC PONTIFICATION
"You stand up, you talk, and influence people every day
You are so worried about what they see and what they say
You really care about only those few who mean something to you
All your actions and deeds speak volumes about self importance too
So when you stand face to face and He asks you what will you say
He knows what’s really inside your heart and how you made your way!"
“Painter paint in a variety of styles, methods and mediums, but they are all chosen. What are you choosing for now and eternity? Have a great week!!”

May 6th “Filled With Doubt”
“Dancers In Blue – Edgar Degas”
BLOG BURST:
"Edgar Degas was born in Paris the son of a banker and art lover and friend to important collectors, he was set up in his first studio by eighteen. He studied at the School of Fine Arts after which he studied the masters of the Renaissance still keeping his passion and focus on painting. He lived a life of listening only to his own opinions. Filled with self doubt which affected him and his isolation for his entire life and losing his sight he turned to sculpture and his love of the opera.
So many are filled with doubt. So many have no hope. So many don’t know about the choices they have made and are making. Today we live in a world filled with me, myself and I. A throw away to our foundational beliefs and a mockery when we disapproved of our child’s actions and turn around and lead them by doing exactly what we’ve disapproved of. Throw away marriages, throw away relationships, throw away jobs and positions because discipline, order, behavior, decorum are no longer in vogue, only what our momentary feelings tell us to do.
Be careful for the God of the entire universe carefully watches over all and even His own will not mock him.
Our only hope is to live for Him in obedience to His commands, even when it doesn’t “feel good!"
POETIC PONTIFICATION:
“Where is the stand on foundational beliefs we once took
It's like we’ve been pulled from stage and don’t even see the hook
Why do you think you’ve got it right and the fairy tale is in view
When you’ve totally forgotten to look closely all around you
You may not see it today or maybe you’ll hear or see a crack
But you won’t reach the colors the world said when it’s truly black!”
“Every artist has fears and has doubts. We also must come to the point where our hope is in the Lord. Have a great week!”

Apr.29th “We Know Not The Time”
“The Pink Dress – Fredric Bazille”
BLOG BURST:
"Born the son of a rich landowner and wine grower, Fredric Bazille, at his parents urging, set off to Paris to study medicine. He found himself studying painting in the same workshops as Renior, Sisley, and Monet. He pursued his studies with Monet experimenting with open air painting. Upon his return to Paris he found that he had failed his medical exams. He then went about getting permission from his parents to devote himself totally to art.
Because of his position and parents underwriting, Bazille shared his living accommodations and studio workshop with Monet making it possible for Monet to exist and keep working. His connections and influences seemed to allow his works acceptance by the governing art authorities, The Official Salon. He continued his pursuit of the accepted norm as well as his new love of impressionism. His clear thinking and understanding allowed him to move in both circles.
His burgeoning career came to a dramatic halt when he was killed in the line of duty during the war of 1870 at the age of 29. He is probably most known for the love of his colleagues and his generosity in keeping them alive during the early tumultuous times of these pioneers, a band of starving artists who ultimately birthed the Impressionist movement which has so impacted the art world.
One never knows the day God has set for one’s spirit to depart this present world. It’s been an extremely hard month as someone very close to me has seen four very close friends go home to be with their Lord, all of whom were great individuals who service their King. While all assurance is known and God has as always provided much grace, it still takes a toll on the human spirit. Since Adam’s sin, the Word tells us “it is appointed for man once to die and then judgment” Hebrew 9:7. The judgment is to enter into eternal paradise with Christ the Lord; or the judgment to follow the world that has rejected, God’s Word, follows Satan and will end up in Hell.
Bazille’s compassion, servant hood, and love for his friends and brothers didn’t expand the days God had numbered for him. His good deeds and actions of care wouldn’t allow Him access to Christ’s paradise. Only a true declaration, that the Word of God says in Romans 10:9, “Jesus is Lord” and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, would he have been saved. What about you?"
POETIC PONTIFICATION:
“It’s not about the things you do for others
“It’s not about the things you do for others
Or how you measure against your brothers
It’s not about feeling this way or that way
Or thinking you control everything each day
It’s knowing and believing in Jesus Christ
Doing His will and letting Him live out His life!”
“Artists and painters need people, people who care about them and care about their work, but most important is choosing the judgment that will come. Take good care and choose wisely!!”

Apr.22nd “Messages Not Heard”
“Clock Tower Cottage By Thomas Kinkade”
BLOG BURST:
"A few weeks back I mentioned Thomas Kinkade. His brother came out after his death and said that separation from his wife and four children had taken a toil, loss of sales, and other allegations had led to an increase and dependence on the artist’s alcoholism. Others mentioned he felt like he had sold his talent for commercialism and money. The article finished by saying, “He’ll likely become an example of a talented man making the wrong choices.”
I couldn’t help but think of how often I’ve spoken out on this to especially warn people of this danger, a danger I know only too well. But here it is in the way that God speaks about it and its consequences. Twice in Proverbs, 14:12 and 16:25, we are told, “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Here’s what “The Berean Call” says about that, “In other words, if a man goes by what he thinks or feels, independently of and in opposition to what God has declared, the consequences for him (or her) will only generate destruction. “If they speak not according to the word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20
You go contrary to scripture, you show your children how to live wrongly, you pervert what God has said in His Word and you will suffer the consequences.
I don’t write this as a guilt trip! I write this as a wake-up call! I write this because God is not mocked and His Word is truth and if you speak and act as if there is no light in you “Death is separation, the spirit and the soul from the body and moreover the separation from God and the light of His truth.” (The Berean Call)
POETIC PONTIFICATION:
“Too often we don’t see what’s before our eyes
Too often the messages we believe are only lies
We frequently have time to beg and ask forgiveness
We so need a heart cleansed and full of Willingness
It’s not too late; don’t take that road you travel far
Your life, what you think you have, will only be a mar!”
“Painters need to give themselves to their gift and they need the right, positive, supportive people around them, not those who would put selfishness, prominence, and money first. Have a great week!!”

Apr.15th “How We Look At Things”
“Claude Monet’s Haystack”
BLOG BURST:
"Monet and Renoir painted together one summer and after reviewing the findings of Eugene Chevreal and his “color theory”, they both changed their thinking and their painting execution dramatically. In fact if you look closely at Monet’s painting life it was probably the single most dramatic change after his pursuit of Impressionism. It was a “hand in a glove” to his painting endeavors, not only instant painting of naturally lighted subjects but the careful and complete study of the affects of color, light, cast shadow, and reflective shadow.
Life changes and life’s choices change often when we look and study things going on all around us. The Bible says God never changes! Yet, we would give up all we promised, all we had and all we are or could be to pursue fame, fortune and happiness. We forget whose we are and whom we serve. We forget God has a perfect plan for us and He want to execute it for His honor and His glory. It’s not our will and our way that’s important. In fact many of us will have plenty to answer for and many of us along with others that we love will pay big prices right here on earth. The Bible is pretty clear.
No matter what we discover or what we “feel” we should pursue, we need to ask God what He wants, where He wants us and what our choices need to be. Plus, we need to wait carefully for Him to show us His will."
POETIC PONTIFICATION:
“I look at the shadows and I see that they are black
Moving closer to see anything my eyes may have lacked
I want to know if the shadow contains color that complements
I want to see what’s applied and what the artist meant
I want to know where I should go what I should say or do
Knowing the only thing to pursue is the way that honors You!”
“Monet gave us great gifts and great insight, but all glory and honor belongs to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Have a great week!!”
